February Holiday Bushcraft Clubs 2020

Monday 10th February. 1000-1700. Craiglockhart Woodlands experience. *Wild foods, staff/wand carving, woodland exploration, shelters and more. Drop off and pick up across from costa on grassy area at St Andrews Square.
Tuesday 11th February. 1000-1700. Cammo and River Almond experience.Wild foods, River exploration, staff/wand making (whittling skills), mammal tracking, shelter/camp building and fire making, raft building. Drop off at Cramond Brig (Miller and Carter), Pick up at Cammo Estate car park (on Cammo Walk).
Wednesday 12th February. 1000-1700. Dalmeny Estate experience.Wild foods, woodland/coastal exploration, staff/wand making (whittling skills), mammal tracking, shelter/camp building. Drop off and pick up at ‘the seal’ across from the Hawes Inn at South Queensferry.

Although each day will have similar activities, they will offer different aspects of all bush craft ideas…wild food experiences/shelter building techniques and the many different methods of fire starting/building and cooking. Using the different habitats to give the children a variety of survival situations, and the ability to learn lots of new skills…. all lots of fun too!

Costs for February clubs are £27 per child per activity.
Children must be aged 8+ to attend. Teenagers welcome too!
* clubs require £1.80 bus fares on the day please.

Easter Holiday Clubs 2020

Monday 13th April. (1000-1700) Explore Dalkeith Country Park.
River walking, tree climbing, river dipping, old tree exploration, shelter building and full-size raft building. Drop off and pick up at café on grassy area at St Andrews Square
Tuesday 14th April. Bonally and the Pentlands (1000-1700).
Woodland exploration, gully walking, wildlife tracking and natural art. Drop off and pick up at café on St Andrews Square
Wednesday 15th April. Cycling around the Dalmeny Estate (1000-1700).
Explore beaches, woods, fields, hills and a secret pond on bikes. Drop off and pick up at the Cramond Brig car park.
Thursday 16th April. Colinton Dell Adventure (1000-1700).
River dipping, river art, rope swings, mini beast hunts and river walking.  Drop off and pick up at café on St Andrews Square.
Friday 17th April. (1000-1700) South Queensferry to Craigie Farm Woodland Experience.
Mini beasts, tree climbing, off road woodland exploration, staff/wand making, mammal tracking and shelter building. Drop off at ‘the seal’ across from the Hawes Inn at South Queensferry, pick up at Craigie Farm.

Costs for holiday clubs are £28 per child per activity. Bus fares (£1.80) should be brought for Dalkeith, Bonally and Colinton Dell trips.

Payment should be made a week before first club is due to start. Cheques should be made payable to Earth Calling. Bank transfer is available on request.

Please make sure that your children are dressed appropriately for the Scottish weather and individual clubs. We recommend that spare clothes, towel and waterproofs are a permanent feature of their wildlife club back packs.
