kids quotes
I really enjoy Wildlife Club because it is fantastic fun exploring different places. Also, after you teach me different facts about wildlife, I teach my friends and family them. Recently I went on a walk in an oak wood and I taught my family about the oak apple and they were really interested.

I think that Wildlife Club is a helpful, entertaining group which also encourages children not to drop litter, to be responsible, to care for wildlife and have some fun with it too. My favourite game is when you have to collect five or six different bugs or beetles. Hide and seek is also great because we have lots of places to hide in the woods.

Wildlife Club is a very rewarding experience. It opens young people’s eyes to some of the environmental problems in the world and helps young people to do something about those problems. The Earth Calling team are enthusiastic and young-person friendly and fun. Through wildlife holiday club, I met lots of new people which was great. Wildlife Club was a really important part of my primary school life and now I still really look forward to the holiday clubs.

I always learn something new each week and have great fun. For example I learned how to tell if it was a squirrel or a mouse that had eaten a pine cone.

Wildlife club is great fun. My favourite thing to do is going to the beach. I like finding crabs and going into the water. I also like going to the river. The water is freezing though!! I like the badger watch. We saw a lot of badgers one time. I have been to two.

I like the wildlife club because it is always fun. I also like the trips we go on to Cramond and Cammo and what we do like making bramble smoothies and face paint. Gus and Sarah run the club and they are really nice. We play games like catch the flag and hide and seek. Gus also lets us play games that we choose. When it has been raining all day or the weather is bad, Gus always has something for us to do indoors like quizzes, making bird food balls, guess what’s in the tray or animal masquerades. I have learned a lot about nature and that Davidson’s Mains park has much wildlife in it. I often take my family to see what we have found in the park. In the summer we go on a wildlife cycle which is fantastic. The wildlife club is amazing but we need more girls because, including Sarah, there is only five of us.

I like wildlife rangers because I have learnt a lot about insects and how to make nettle string. Recently I found a badger set in the wildlife garden, Gus was really pleased. Also checking the ground for animal footprints is really cool. I like the holiday clubs because it's lots of fun with the leaders - Gus, Laura, Guthrie & Duncan. I have found a few bones at Ravelston woods and Cramond. I have explored Cramond Island and found a giant Crabs Pincer (as big as my hand). I took the train to Aberdour with Gus and found a live crab. I love Gus's reaction when people find stuff!

In September I joined the Wildlife Club run by Gus and Sarah, who are both really nice. I was keen to start as I had heard it was lofs of fun. I was not disappointed! Since joining I have learned lots about wildlife and had a great time while doing it. Every week we do something different like looking for signs of wildlife, going on scavenger hunts, outdoor art and playing lots of games. My favourite is 'Catch the Flag' which we play in the woods. The best session so far has been when we went on a cycle safari. We rode along the cycle path towards Cramond, searching for evidence of wildlife such as chewed acorns and animal droppings. It was quite hard work but very interesting. When we got there we found badger setts. If you enjoy learning about wildlife and exploring the woods and river banks you will enjoy the club too.
